Meeting Amon-Ra St. Brown

USC Trojans wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown stopped by the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was his first visit to the office for an eye exam and eyewear.

Out of high school Amon-Ra chose USC over many other top notch football programs. As a true freshman he showed signs of being a future star. Time has gone by fast and with a few seasons under his belt, Amon-Ra entered the 2020 season as one of the top wide receivers in the entire conference. He proved it and was named First Team All-Pac-12.

After 3 seasons in a Trojans uniform, Amon-Ra decided to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. He is a polite and humble kid. I wish him the best playing on Sundays.

RIP Tommy Lasorda

The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost another member of their family. For many years Tommy Lasorda was the face of the Dodgers organization and it was a privilege for me to meet Tommy a few times. Rest in peace Tommy Lasorda.

Meeting Trinere

Recording artist Trinere made a stop at the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was one more recording artist to have an appointment at the office from the many that have visited this year.

You may remember Trinere from a number of her dance hits from the 1980s. Songs she is best known for are “They’re Playing Our Song” and “All Night” to name a few. Many credit Trinere for being very influential in the freestyle music genre.

People from just about every age group have heard and danced to Trinere’s songs at one point or another. To this day she continues to be very popular due to the fact that she has gained a following from younger generations.

Everybody in the country has been affected by the current pandemic in some way shape or form. Before the pandemic hit, Trinere had a number of shows scheduled that eventually had to be cancelled. It just shows that the average person to celebrities are all in this mess together.

I would like to thank Trinere for making time to come out to the office.

MASGA

The year 2020 has been a tough year for most people due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our country being divided and with a high unemployment rate to name a few. The pandemic restrictions have touched just about everyone’s lifestyle in some way including our hobby as autograph collectors with most promoters resorting to non public private signings.

With more uncertainty in the coming year due to a spike in COVID-19 cases and with a new incoming administration, who knows how much more our country and hobby will take a hit. Let’s hope that the pandemic disappears from our lives for good so we can make autograph signings great again in 2021.

Meeting Rodney-O

Hip hop recording artist Rodney-O made a visit to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was the recording artists first visit to the office to pick up some new eyewear.

In the 1980s Rodney-O paired with Joe Cooley to become the duo rap group Rodney-O & Joe Cooley. Many have considered them to be some of the West Coast hip hop pioneers. Some of the songs the pair is known for are “Everlasting Bass” and “U Don’t Hear Me Tho.” To this day both songs continue to get radio play from stations that play back in the day music.

There is a misconception that Rodney-O is from Compton like Joe Cooley. In reality Rodney-O is from Riverside and attended school with Brother Marquis of 2 Live Crew and attended Riverside Poly High School with former NBA star Reggie Miller.

What is Rodney-O up to these days? He continues to live in Southern California and plans to put out new music.

Rodney-O enjoyed selecting his new eyewear.

Rodney-O autographed CD booklet and CD.

I would like to thank Rodney-O for making time to come out to the office.
