Meeting Pooh Richardson

p-richardson1Former NBA point guard Pooh Richardson visited the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. Pooh had an appointment for an eye exam followed by him choosing new eyewear.

Pooh loved the variety of eyewear available at the office and didn’t have any trouble making a selection. Before leaving the office, he posed for photos and signed autographs for Dr. Liu and staff.

Pooh played his college ball at UCLA where he was a standout before heading to the NBA.

Prospect of the Day

Cowart

On August 18, 2015, Kaleb Bryant Cowart made his major league debut with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Once again, Kaleb has been a late season call up and may finally show why he was a first round pick.

Kaleb spent much of the 2012 season with the Inland Empire 66ers of the California League.

I want to wish Kaleb the best of luck in The Show.

UCLA Football Training Camp

Cal State

The UCLA Bruins held football training camp on the campus of Cal State San Bernardino. The Bruins have had at least one week of camp in San Bernardino after Jim Mora took over the head coaching duties. I had never attended since the temperature always hits triple digits this time of year.

This year I did attend two practices and it was a good experience. The practices lasted at least a few hours long and were very entertaining.

After practice, the Bruins would make their way back to the locker room. Along the way they would take posed photos and sign autographs for all fans that asked. Below are a few of the Bruins that I met.

Meeting Howard “Hojo” Johnson

66ers

I attended a 66ers game in San Bernardino to meet New York Mets great Howard “Hojo” Johnson. Howard’s team, the High Desert Mavericks, were in town for a three game series against the 66ers.

I had already met Howard at the beginning of the season, but wanted to get more items signed by him. I gave Howard a 16×20 photo for him to keep for himself. He was very grateful for the gift and signed all of my items.
