Meeting Hunter Henry

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry came by the optometry practice. This was Hunter’s first visit to the office for an eye exam.

Hunter was a stud coming out of the University of Arkansas where he won the prestigious John Mackey Award in 2015 as the nations top tight end. He was drafted in the 2016 NFL draft as a potential future replacement for Antonio Gates. After a few seasons under his belt, the worst happened when Hunter suffered a torn ACL during the spring. More than likely it’s an injury that’s going to sideline him for the rest of this season.

Hunter is keeping his spirits high and is working hard to make a strong comeback. I want to wish Hunter the best on his return to the playing field.

Meeting Dave Burba

Former MLB pitcher Dave Burba came to San Bernardino with his Lancaster JetHawks for a series against the Inland Empire 66ers. Dave is currently the JetHawks pitching coach. I met him a number of times back when he was with another California League team, the Modesto Nuts, as pictured above.

I already had Dave sign plenty of items for me, but this time around I wanted to have him sign a bobblehead. As always, Dave was friendly and happy to sign my items.

This is now the oldest bobblehead that I own. It’s a 2001 Cleveland Indians stadium giveaway.
