Meeting Christopher Williams

Singer and songwriter Christopher Williams made a stop at the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu for some eyewear. The recording artist has been a regular at the practice since last year.

Christopher made a name for himself in the 1980s while being signed with Geffen Records. Christopher’s “I’m Dreamin” was featured on the infamous New Jack City movie soundtrack of 1991. The single “I’m Dreamin” made it to number 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Singles & Tracks. During that time Christopher also dated world famous actress Halle Berry.

What is Christopher up to these days? In recent years he has been active in theatre productions and spends most of his time in Southern California.

Meeting Trinere

Recording artist Trinere made a stop at the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was one more recording artist to have an appointment at the office from the many that have visited this year.

You may remember Trinere from a number of her dance hits from the 1980s. Songs she is best known for are “They’re Playing Our Song” and “All Night” to name a few. Many credit Trinere for being very influential in the freestyle music genre.

People from just about every age group have heard and danced to Trinere’s songs at one point or another. To this day she continues to be very popular due to the fact that she has gained a following from younger generations.

Everybody in the country has been affected by the current pandemic in some way shape or form. Before the pandemic hit, Trinere had a number of shows scheduled that eventually had to be cancelled. It just shows that the average person to celebrities are all in this mess together.

Meeting Rodney-O

Hip hop recording artist Rodney-O made a visit to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was the recording artists first visit to the office to pick up some new eyewear.

In the 1980s Rodney-O paired with Joe Cooley to become the duo rap group Rodney-O & Joe Cooley. Many have considered them to be some of the West Coast hip hop pioneers. Some of the songs the pair is known for are “Everlasting Bass” and “U Don’t Hear Me Tho.” To this day both songs continue to get radio play from stations that play back in the day music.

There is a misconception that Rodney-O is from Compton like Joe Cooley. In reality Rodney-O is from Riverside and attended school with Brother Marquis of 2 Live Crew and attended Riverside Poly High School with former NBA star Reggie Miller.

What is Rodney-O up to these days? He continues to live in Southern California and plans to put out new music.

Meeting Money-B

Hip hop recording artist Money-B made a visit to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. The visit consisted of the recording artist selecting new eyewear at the office.

You may remember Money-B from the legendary music group Digital Underground. The group had many hit songs in the ’90s which included “The Humpty Dance,” “Same Song” and “Kiss You Back” to name a few. Money-B appeared on all of the Digital Underground albums and was also featured on 2Pac’s “I Get Around” song from 1993.

Talking to Money-B I quickly realized that we had a few things in common. We both live in the same area and root for the San Francisco 49ers. It was a pleasure having him at the office.

Meeting Bret “Epic” Mazur

Bret “Epic” Mazur made a visit to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was another recording artist from the many that have recently visited the office.

You may remember Epic as a founding member and frontman of the rock band Crazy Town. The band made a name for themselves in 2001 with their hit song “Butterfly.” The song rose Crazy Town to fame worldwide with “Butterfly” reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bret Started his record producing career at the young age of 18 and has collaborated with New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe to name a few. What is Epic up to these days? He is no longer with Crazy Town but is still active as a producer in the LA area.
