Meeting Uchenna Nwosu

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Uchenna Nwosu made a stop at the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. Uchenna has been a regular at the office for the past several years.

Uchenna played his college ball for the USC Trojans where he was a First-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2017. After his time at USC he was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has shown consistent improvements in the NFL and in my opinion, will one day be a star in the league.

Uchenna is a nice and polite young man. I wish him continued success in the NFL. Fight On!

Meeting Trey Lance

San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance came to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. Trey happened to be in Southern California for some business and decided to stop by.

Trey played his college ball at North Dakota State where he was a standout. He won numerous awards such as the Walter Payton and Jerry Rice Award just to name a few. Though not from a powerhouse school, NFL scouts still took notice of Trey as a top NFL prospect. Trey was considered one of the top quarterbacks in the class and was selected as the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the 49ers.

Trey enjoyed his time at the office and liked the selection of eyewear. As a lifelong 49ers fan, it was a pleasure to meet him. I wish the young talented kid the best playing in the NFL.

Meeting Amon-Ra St. Brown

USC Trojans wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown stopped by the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu. It was his first visit to the office for an eye exam and eyewear.

Out of high school Amon-Ra chose USC over many other top notch football programs. As a true freshman he showed signs of being a future star. Time has gone by fast and with a few seasons under his belt, Amon-Ra entered the 2020 season as one of the top wide receivers in the entire conference. He proved it and was named First Team All-Pac-12.

After 3 seasons in a Trojans uniform, Amon-Ra decided to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft. He is a polite and humble kid. I wish him the best playing on Sundays.

Meeting Ryan Leaf

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf came to the Optometry Practice of Dr. Alex Corbin Liu for his annual eye exam. Ryan has been a patient of the practice for the last four years and loves coming in to select new eyewear.

Ryan was a standout as a Washington State Cougar which led to him being a Heisman Trophy finalist in 1997. He was drafted behind Peyton Manning as the second overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. His NFL career never lived up to the hype and is considered by many to be one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history.

After his NFL career was over, Ryan lived battling addiction issues. Those days are behind him and he now serves as a program ambassador for Transcend Recovery Community. He is dedicated to helping others make a positive change. You can read more about Transcend Recovery Community by clicking on the link below.

Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. visited the optometry. This was his second visit to the practice as Mo needed to select additional eyewear.

Mo played his college ball at Michigan where he was an All-American and First Team All-Big Ten in 2017. He was projected to be a first round pick in the 2018 NFL draft but was diagnosed with a heart condition before the draft. That issue dropped his stock and Mo eventually was selected in the fifth round by the silver and black.

Mo is an intelligent and nice young man from Massachusetts. I want to wish him the best in the NFL as he will be sacking quarterbacks for many years to come.
